CONTEXT
A platform spanning applications, infrastructure, and field telemetry.
TerraSmart delivers renewable-energy technology and IoT-enabled project optimization software. The platform requires dependable cloud environments for React and Node.js applications while also receiving telemetry from network controllers in the field.
My role covers the infrastructure and operational path around those workloads: environment design, application delivery, telemetry processing, security controls, observability, and production troubleshooting.
CHALLENGE
Keep four environments consistent without slowing delivery.
Development speed and production reliability pull in different directions when environments are configured manually. Application services, networking, secrets, databases, edge delivery, and IoT integrations need repeatable boundaries while teams continue releasing changes.
APPROACH
A layered AWS architecture with automation at every handoff.
Application delivery
React.js and Node.js workloads are delivered through managed AWS services including Elastic Beanstalk, CloudFront, API Gateway, and supporting networking components.
Telemetry pipeline
AWS Lambda processes controller telemetry integrated through AWS IoT Core and persists application data in Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL.
Environment isolation
Development, QA, Staging, and Production retain clear configuration and release boundaries while sharing repeatable infrastructure patterns.
Operational visibility
CloudWatch dashboards, alarms, centralized Slack notifications, runbooks, and incident response create a direct path from signal to action.
SCALE SUPPORTED
The engineering outcome is a repeatable operational foundation for application releases, connected-device data, and high-availability production support.
